Dieufel Lamisere, HaitiDansCo founder and artistic director was born and raised in Petionville, Haiti. Mr Lamisere began dance instruction at age 10 with the most well known dancing school in Haiti, RMT-Regine Mont-Rozier Trouillot. Trained in classical ballet, jazz and modern dance with Nathalie Trouillot Dalzon, he also studied with Odette Wiener, founder and artistic director of the Ballet Bacoulou, Fenol Jean-Jacques and also performed with RMT and La Compagnie des Jeunes De la Danse include: Bal de Graduation, Don Quixote and the Little Mermaid. Performed and tour with the ballet Bacoulou (Bahamas, Martinique, France and Spain) and was a guest dancer with BFH-Ballet Folklorique d’Haiti for the production of Tezen. Lamisere performed with Eddy Toussaint who was the artistic director of GBH (Grand Ballet of Haiti) and Les Grand Ballets of Canada.

Mr. Lamisere was the founder and artistic director of EDCOM-Ethnic Dance Company and artistic director of the Capoise Dance Company in Northern Haiti. He worked with the MICIVIH as a dancer on A Quoi Sert la Liberte for human rights and performed in the 25th assembly of OAS in Port-au-Prince in 1995. After 6 years of touring the world, Mr. Lamisere decided to move to New York City and pursue his dream of having his own Dance Company – this dream has come to life - HaitiDansCo.

After twelve years in New York City, and several other countries, promoting Haitian culture and exposing people abroad, he returned home to continue his work with the RMT Academy of dance and other dance companies in Port-Au-Prince. Mr Lamisere, later moved to the Dominican republic working with Ballet Folklorico national, Ballet teatro and Hispadanco from 2010 - 2011. Mr. Lamisere decided to return home to Haiti and subsequently worked two seasons with the famous troupe BACOULOU d’HAITI from 2011 - 2013. In 2013, Mr. Lamisere opened Dance to Save Lives in Jacmel, Haiti, training children living in poverty in Haitian folkloric and modern dance forms and also created cultivated new young dancers for his company HaitiDansCo. In 2018, Mr. Lamisere moved Dance To Save Lives and HaitiDansCo. to Cap-Haitien and opened Diuefel Lamisere School of Dance.  These accessible activities and services are provided daily for free in the city of Jacmel, Haiti.
